Terms of Service
Last updated: June 2026
These Terms of Service govern your use of the owninvoice.com website and the OwnInvoice desktop application. By using the website or installing the application, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website or application.
OwnInvoice is a brand operated by BLACKONE SIA, a company registered in Latvia ("we", "us", "our"). References to "OwnInvoice" throughout these terms refer to BLACKONE SIA.
1. The service
OwnInvoice is a desktop application for creating and managing invoices, distributed for Windows, macOS, and Linux. A Free plan is available with a limit of three client records. A Pro license can be purchased to remove this limit, as a one-time payment with no recurring subscription.
2. License to use the software
Use of the OwnInvoice application itself is governed by the OwnInvoice End User License Agreement (EULA), provided with the application and available on request at hello@owninvoice.com. These Terms of Service govern the website and purchase process; the EULA governs your use of the installed software.
3. Purchases
OwnInvoice Pro is sold through Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle"), our authorized reseller and Merchant of Record. Paddle handles payment processing and is responsible for calculating, collecting, and remitting any applicable sales tax or VAT on your purchase. By making a purchase, you agree to Paddle's Buyer Terms, available at paddle.com/legal/checkout-buyer-terms, in addition to these terms. Prices displayed at checkout may vary based on your location due to applicable tax.
A Pro license is issued to a single individual identified by email address and is non-transferable. Upon successful payment, a license file will be issued to the email address provided at checkout, typically within 24 hours.
4. Refunds
We offer refunds within 14 days of purchase, no questions asked. To request a refund, contact hello@owninvoice.com with your purchase email and we will process it within 5 business days. Refunds are processed through Paddle and may take additional time to appear on your statement depending on your payment method.
Because OwnInvoice licenses work offline and cannot be remotely revoked, we ask that you uninstall the application and delete your license file after a refund is issued. Continuing to use a Pro license after receiving a refund is a violation of these terms.
5. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the website to submit false, abusive, or malicious bug reports or feature requests
- Attempt to circumvent license verification or distribute license keys belonging to others
- Use automated tools to scrape, overload, or interfere with the website's normal operation
- Misrepresent your identity when making a purchase
6. Intellectual property
The OwnInvoice name, logo, website content, and application are the property of OwnInvoice. Nothing in these terms grants you any rights to our trademarks, branding, or source code beyond the limited license to use the installed application as described in the EULA.
7. No warranty
This website and the OwnInvoice application are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the website or application will be available, uninterrupted, or error-free at all times.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, OwnInvoice shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the website or application, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of business, or loss of profit. Our total liability for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid for your license in the twelve months preceding the claim.
9. Changes to the service
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the website or application at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to notify Pro license holders of any change that materially affects their use of the software.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. Continued use of the website or application after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Latvia, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Latvia. This does not affect any statutory rights you may have under Paddle's terms as Merchant of Record for your purchase.
12. Contact
Questions about these terms can be sent to hello@owninvoice.com.
